How to Use the Scientific Calculator
Simply enter your expression using the buttons or keyboard. The calculator supports basic operations (+, −, ×, ÷), trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan, and inverse functions), logarithms, exponentials, and advanced functions like factorials and powers. Toggle between degrees and radians for trigonometric calculations. All calculations run instantly in your browser.
Scientific Functions Explained
Trigonometry: sin, cos, tan, and their inverse functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹). Toggle between degree (DEG) and radian (RAD) modes. Logarithms: log (base 10) and ln (natural logarithm). Powers: x² (square), x³ (cube), xⁿ (any power), and √ (square root). Other Functions: 1/x (reciprocal), |x| (absolute value), n! (factorial), e (Euler's number), and π (pi).
Memory Functions
MC (Memory Clear) — clears stored value. MR (Memory Recall) — retrieves stored value. M+ — adds current result to memory. M− — subtracts current result from memory. MS (Memory Store) — stores the current result. Memory indicator shows when a value is stored.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Type numbers directly (0-9). Use +, −, ×, /, % for operations. Press Enter for equals. Backspace to delete the last character. Use parentheses ( ) for grouping. Decimal point with .
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between DEG and RAD modes?
DEG (degrees) uses the standard degree system where a full circle is 360°. RAD (radians) uses the radian system where a full circle is 2π radians. Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan) interpret input differently depending on the mode. Toggle between modes with the radio buttons at the top.
How do I calculate a power like 2 to the 5th?
Click the xⁿ button, then enter the base (2), press xⁿ, enter the exponent (5), and press equals.
Can I use the ANS button?
Yes! The ANS button retrieves your previous calculation result, so you can chain calculations together.
Is my calculation history saved?
Yes, your calculation history is stored locally in your browser for the current session. Clear History removes all stored calculations. Close the browser to erase the history.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your calculations are never sent to any server.
