Frequently Asked Questions

How do stacking discounts work?

Discounts stack multiplicatively. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount doesn't equal 30% off the original. Instead, the second discount applies to the already-reduced price: 100 → 80 → 72 (20% off, then 10% off the remaining).

Can I add more than three discount tiers?

The calculator shows three discount fields. For more complex scenarios, use the results from the first three, then run another calculation with the result as the new starting price.

What is the effective discount rate?

The effective discount rate is the total percentage off the original price after all discounts are applied. For example, paying 72 for an original 100 item is a 28% effective discount.

How does the reverse calculator work?

If you know the final price and the discount percentage, the reverse calculator calculates what the original price was before the discount.
